Tony, Spencer, and the NWS

The question for the weekend is...............

Are Tony, Spencer, and the National Weather Service (along with countless other weather forecasting folks) in cahoots with the grocery businesses?

Think about it. Every time someone forecasts a dusting of snow, everyone in the Tri-State area immediately crams into the nearest grocery store to stock up on food, kerosene and snow shovels, etc. This winter has been a little slower than ususal for the grocery business.... January is reported to have been the warmest on record.

So, this weekend, all the weather folks were promising 6"+ of snow. And the grocery stores were packed. And, looking out my front window on this fine Sunday afternoon, I can see the concrete of my driveway. Admittedly, the trees, etc. are pretty well covered but there is no sign that anyone is having any problems driving.

So, how about it Tony? Was this a ploy to get everyone to go shopping and help the grocery stores' bottom line? Or are we seeing another example of Chaos Theory, a.k.a. "The Butterfly Effect"?
